After various individual musical ventures the four of us came together in the spring of 2000 and formed Menendez. We spent a year in ultra creative mode, writing, rehearsing and producing our debut release album "Living On The Shore", April 2001 at the excellent (now sadly defunct) Blah Street Studio, Odiham. A year later we returned to Blah Street Studio and recorded our second album "Gingerbread Man". From early on it was obvious what gave us our unique quality; keyboards. While a rock band with a keyboard player is nothing unusual, it is the way the sounds are utilised; long sustained organ chords add to the hypnotic effect on many pieces, often with our trademark pulse/wave. Rehearsal space has never been a problem, we get together in the bass players bedroom! This stress-free, laid back environment is perfect for rehearsals, and may explain why the track "Living On The Shore" has been described as "one of the most soothing man made sounds", by Jim Bowes in Probe Magazine.
